builder I have to agree with the 1-24 twist giving the widest range of options wit the bullet lengths and the speeds that can be developed with the powders now available.
The ideal length for a bullet to be shot through a 1 in 24 twist at 1600 to 2400 FPS is 1.25. You must also understand that it takes 1/3 more RPM to over stabilize a bullet the to under stabilize. Also that the idea that you can not over stabilize is a wives tale.
The bullets available and the velocities we can develop are a combination that would make a 1 in 24 twist slightly better for 50 caliber as well as 45 because a lot of people like to use the smallest amount of powder they can and still get good accuracy.I like the 1 in 28 because I like to get the max velocity I can with max accuracy.
