By this time i had the powder in and the bullet started, I huuried and set the bullet home and it seemed to take forever to get the primer in correctly. Kept having to dump it back in my hand and try again, I am having a hard time with the bare primer bolt. He started to move and my heart was racing, i knew at any moment he was going to take off the a bat out of hell.
IMO - that is the one single stumble of the Mountaineer - whomever designed the front of the bolt to have rails to insert the primer in - probably did not do any cold weather hunters ant favors...

For my part I decided to to make a capper just for the intance you are talking about....





This summer I will make some better ones out of Teflon - but for now these work pretty well... instert the tool and primer in and lift up and out with the tool.
