Little hole? With the right round the 7mm08 can leave a nasty large hole or do massive damage.

I use a partitioned round, and the exit hole on the 7 pt I shot this year was just over 2" in diameter. Little entrance hole, big ragged exit hole. I should have taken a picture of it as we cleaned the 7 pt.

The 6 and the 8 I shot last year each hit bone in the upper leg. I left a mess of damaged tissue and bone the between the size of a softball and baseball unuseable.

While the round I use kills the bigger deer in Wisconsin with impressive ease, I don't know that I would use the same round for the smaller species of whitetail deer. I may not be left with much to eat outside of any horns.
