.452 entry hole
Aprox. .75 exit with complete pass through of the chest cavity.

The deer made it about 10 yards and was DOA after a reload. I took pictures but I'll spare you the gore as the above should provide an accurate enough performance summary.

I just bought Speer Deep Curls but will find it difficult to improve on the above.
Thanks for the report. I shot a buck last year at approx 140 yards with the 260 Scorpion PT Gold (90gr BH209) and had similar, if not slightly better results. Best blood trail I've ever seen. Later that season I shot a buck completely broadside at appox 12 yards with the same load and never found him. Not a drop of blood anywhere and never found the deer after searching on 3 occasions. That makes me think I missed, but I practiced the exact same shot the next day and hit an inch high, have rehearsed the memory in my mind a million times and I do not believe I missed. I believe, at that range, the bullet failed to expand. You'd think a .45 hole with no expansion would have done plenty of damage, so I'm stumped.

Because of that incident, this year I switched to the 300gr Deep Curl. I took a deer at appox 15 yards and the entry hole was the size of a golf ball, if not bigger. I'm sticking with the Deep Curls and see no reason to try anything else, at least in my Omega since they will shoot 1 MOA when I do my part.

Those 260 PT Golds were eve more accurate, though. Amazing how well they shot with only 90gr BH209.
