Default Success 15 minutes late!

I have been after what I thought was an 8 point for several weeks now. I had seen him on several occassions, but never on the same trail twice. Even so, I made the prediction that I was going to shoot him at 6:20pm on Tuesday the 14th. Surprisingly he appeared at exactly that minute on that date, but ran through the only opening that would' ve allowed a shot.

While relating this to my sister who was visting on Thursday, we said that maybe I' d get my chance at 6:20pm tthat evening. I changed my plans of where to hang my stand because I spooked a deer in that spot on the way in. Of course, every deer I saw walked directly through that area and out of my range. And I watched 6:20pm come and pass uneventfully.

At 6:35pm, I bleated 2 times just for the heck of it. As if on cue, the buck I was after (which I hadn' t seen) materialized on a trail headed my way! He walked behind a big oak and I drew my bow. When he stepped out on the other side, I placed my 20 yard pin right behind his shoulder and touched the release. The arrow passed through him and buried 8-10" in the dirt on the other side. He crashed about 45 yards away!

I found him without needing to follow the blood trail and discovered that he was missing a brow tine--making him a 7 point, but I was pleased with him none-the-less. This is the first time that I recall getting the actual buck I was planning to get. This also makes 20 years straight that I' ve harvested at least one deer with a bow!
