RE: 180 gr 44 mag for Deer?

I am a new handgun hunter and it is very addicting too. You got yourself a great gun. I have never used the 180gr but like you I love the speed. With my 445 supermag I can get over 2000 fps. But like the other said not much penetration. Go with a heaver gr bullet or speed gold dot are great in 270 gr. But check out cast bullets too they are great also. But see what your gun likes and have fun. Handgun hunting is the most fun I have when hunting. Do you reload? If you don't it will add to your fun so start. And it will save you money in the long run and is very satisfying too.
