Coyoteseeker is again, right on the money with his reply. Fox, especily gray fox are much easier to call at night. Try using the yellow hammer distress or gray fox pup tapes.I have called them from the back of my truck and have had them run around the truck not over 3 yards away, run under the truck I have had one even rear up on the side of the truck. Try these two tapes I think you`ll be happy with them.
