Nope, Ive seen quite a few deer taken with carbon's 3 by my buddy Mark this year. He shot 2 with the same arrow, then when he was making a shot on a doe a spike buck lifted it's head at the exact moment and mark hit it in the head, instant kill, but the arrow broke when the deer had fallen on it. He wasn't to pleased because he had to use his general tag on it which he was saving, and he also lost his arrow. But carbon's are tough as nails and will do a fine job with the right broadhead and good tuning you will have no prob with deer.
