I am looking for something lightweight(15oz or less) around 14 power dialed for custom ammo and with scopecaps(for bad weather of coarse) short(12- 13 inches) great C/S warranty that goes with scope mil-dot or fine duplex(no --range dots, circles, brackets, slashes, etc.)
I'm hoping to buy the Leupy CDS before deer season, i like that leupold offers that for it's customers. If you get get the correct data for the turret it should be hair splitting accuracy that you want.
http://www.kentonindustries.com/ Will make custom turrets for a lot of different scopes on the market.
The BDC styled reticles are generic numbers for most of the cartridges made today and will get you real close.
Mil-dots are great but not in a hunting situation were you may have only seconds to make the shot. The dots aren't different yardages but extra MOA markings that changes value as the distance changes or depending on the power setting on a given distance. You still have to use the turrets to get your elevation set, then fine tune with the mil-dots. Snipers often use the mil-dots if they are out of elevation in the scope. Although IMO you can't beat a mil-dot for shooting at moving targets or shooting in the wind.
