How hard did you push them out of your 45/70?
I didn't push them real hard - something around 1700 fps - even though my Browning 1885 can handle a lot hotter load. You can probably get them up to 1500 without a great deal of difficulty from a ML, which would be fine for performance. I think they are made to operate at Trapdoor speeds down as low as 1400 fps, probably lower.
