While that seems crazy on the face, many times it works out better. Teaching people without preconceived notions is most of the times much more sucessful. When I hire people, (which is almost weekly) I don't look for those with the most experience in the field. I look for teachable people who are willing to work. I don't work for Knight but I do work for a fortune 500 company so I can see that could be the direction they were/are going.
7 to 10 days is unfortunate. But given they are starting back up and the demand they had/have on thier products right now, I can undestand the delay as well. I'm not making excuses because I have no need to defend them. But I don't see any cause for major concern at this point. But heck, that's just my $0.02.
