Turn 45 degrees away from me. I shot and watched him bound off for 50-60 yds then tumble up. He thrashed around and got up but I heard him fall two more time and was quite certain I'd be putting him I. The freezer. I gave him 30 minutes then Checked the arrow. No arrow n and only a smear of blood. If I hadn't seen him go down I would have pulled out and given Another hour or two. I looked for blood for about 5 minutes then just took off in the direction I had seen him fall. About 2O -30 yds out I found blood. After 50 yds I found where he tumbled. The trail after that was really strong for another 15-20 yds then just stopped. I started scanning the area in the direction the deer was going and saw this

I am pleased. This little spike was about 100-110 lbs so I will be getting a nice supply. I dragged him back home, gutted him and took him to Mast Meats, the menonite butcher we started using last year.
Can't wait to taste that sausage.
