I've had good success hunting out of a ground blind. One is a store bought one that I set up in areas where there is no tree for a climber. I also have several Blinds I've built around the property. Just cut brush. I've seen a lot of deer hunting this way and they are useful when a treestand isn't an option.

In your situation, I would say try it. If you are gonna build one, let it sit a few days before hunting out of it. If you carry a blind in be sure to make it look like the surroundings as best as you can.
