Barrel lenght question for .22 K Hornet
I am thinking about buying a Ruger 77-22 in .22 Hornet and having it recut to K Hornet.
I like both the Walnut stock and the heavier Laminated Stock versions. The Walnut comes with a 20" Barrel the Laminate a 24" barrel.
Now I'm wondering would anyone know of any performance gain or loss based on the Barrel lenght with this caliber?
I know in .22LR a longer barrel will actually slow the slug down. Not something I'm looking for.
I generally perfer the longer tube but wouldn't mind saving the difference in cost and since this would be a walk around rabbit rifle I don't need the extra weight.
