I have an original that I bought new in 1999...The first 7-8 years I used both the Barnes 300 MZ and T/C Shockwaves with the sabots that came with them...I tried .451 Hornady 300gr XTPs and they simply didn't group well...All of these combos were fairly tight, but no real problem as long as you cleaned between shots, which I do anyway...
At any rate, I have always been curious about the .430 Hornady XTPs, both the 240gr and the 300gr...The 240 is a classic and the BC of the 300 is great for a muzzleloading bullet, it's actually right behind a Shockwave/SST...
I also thought since these used the thicker green sabot they would be easier to load...
Like Little Red Riding Hood in my opinion they load "just right"...I use the regular green Harvester sabots...My hunting buddy is using the 240 in his Omega, I'm using the 300 in my Knight...So far I have killed 3 with mine, he has killed 2 with his...Another advantage, you can buy them in bulk...
Might want to try them...
