Default RE: Neck Shot - Ethical?

i know a local hunter here who called in a big bull elk but the elk would only expose his neck from the brush. It was a good bull and he didn' t want to let him walk so he shot hit the bull in the neck and not a suprise he never found the elk. My heart sank when i heard of this. How inhumane and selfish do you have to be. ya sure it was a big elk and it would have been nice to get him but letting him walk away and living for future hunters to attempt would have been a much more respectable decision. I am aware that an elk is a lot tougher animal than a doe but honestly it doesn' t take a lot af skill to go out and shoot a doe. I would hope that he could hold for maybe 10 minutes longer next time when another doe comes by and offers a broadside shot.
