Just got back from the woods. trimmed up a few stray branches from my shooting lanes and figured out my ranges ahead of time with my rangefinder. Looks like I'm not even going to have to use the rangefinder anymore for my early season from the treestand . My stand location is between two "L" shapes on a fourwheeler trail that the deer use very often. Also several regular deer runs connect with this trail close to my stand. If / when a deer comes into sight and into my shooting lanes there will be a maximum of 20 yards on each side and front of me for any potential shots! Awesome. This will only work out this way for the early archery season with all the leaves and vegetation still out. All will change when the leaves start falling. But for now it's looking really, really good. Couldn't get much better than it is. The other lanes will put any potential shots at around 15 yards. I'll just have to really listen for them too. The only thing is it will also be easy for them to sneek in and under me & catch me off guard. It'll keep me on my toes trying to keep from getting busted!!
oh yea... one of my 2 mock scrapes has been used. I realize it is early for them and I don't have a cam on it. But it's all pawed up. The other wasn't.
