I was watching one like that last year, then the guy on the property next to me shot it, then it ran over a hill, under my stand, and died. Figures.

On a sidenote - it always amazes me the people that post from various places in the country that talk about how big our deer are here. I guess just because I' ve never hunted deer outside of IL or WI I just take it for granted. Not taking anything away from that beautiful buck, but there are certainly even bigger ones in the area! I guess I should be thankful my parents decided to raise me here in IL.
