Thought I' d post a picture of the buck I took yesterday. As I was deciding how best to approach a herd with a decent buck in it, I saw this one and a small doe cutting through a coulee headed in my direction a couple hundred yards away. As I eased up a small hill to cut them off, I peeked over the top and they were standing on a knoll looking away at about 100 yards. He dropped at the shot and I was tickled to death to score on opening morning. He was right at 13 inches.
By the way, he had a crease down his scalp and a bullet hole through his left ear. Somebody rang his bell earlier in the day (th blood was dry).
