You need to do some scouting. Find the trails they are using from the fields to their beds. Your stand placement is dictated by the direction of travel the deer take. Whether or not you hunt that stand for the day is going to depend on the winds, that's why I use climber stands so I can move depending on the shifting winds.

Get out there early a few mornings downwind of the deer a good safe distance and see where they are moving. During the late morning, walk the woods and look for sign. Look for natural funnels and pinch points and set up on these if possible.
