I disagree with the whole shoot right behind the shoulder theory regardless of the angle. I had this mentality when I was younger but after having to field dress a deer that i hit in one lung and then guts the rest of the way I now think about where that bullet is going to exit. If I had thought about where I should have shot that deer I would have shot it closer to the front of the deer so that I would not have hit it in the guts and then I would have also more than likely hit it in the heart and lungs instead of just one lung and the liver/guts. And I was shooting a 270 at about 60 yds and it was a little fork horn buck that I was more than happy to shoot so it was not a bad angle just a bad shot placement on my part because I was not thinking with the right mindset.
