I will be hunting unit 24 along Ute creek during 2nd rifle season. we will be staying in a cabin and going up in by horseback-unguided each day. Looks like it is about 4 miles in to wilderness boundary. Guess that is about a 2 hour horseback ride to boundary. anyone ever hunt in there? Any advice on where the elk hide after 1st rifle shooting? This is my 2nd effort. I burned up all my points last year for an unsuccessful muzzleloader hunt in unit 67.
