The price was too good to pass up and i still have enough in the "SML Fund" to add mods or save for my dream 45cal SML.
Ive wanted to try a 45cal SML for a long time to see if i like it. Its a huge beast though and will likely be a range queen. I already have a OEM laminate i can swap and Boyds sells a nice lighter laminate TH stock for well under $200. Its nearly a drop in and only minor barrel channel inletting is needed.
Choate has two hideous "Varminter" stocks and a guy at the local shows sells them for $160. They are nearly a straight drop in and bed on solid aluminum blocks but leaves the barrel totally floating. Ugly as sin but they would make a nice range queen stock and really soak up the recoil of a 200gr at 2800fps.
