I've never read any scientific research that suggests the full moon has anything to do with elk breeding behavior. And I can tell you that after 4 years of intensive research on herds of up to 700 head, that the moon has absolutely no effect on when peak breeding or bugling of elk occurs. It is utter nonsense...
I've got the notes, research paper, data and graphs to prove it.
It occurws during different times frame s in different states, according to state elk biologists and hunters like Dwight Schuh and Larry Jones (both good friends of mine).
