That's a pretty tight budget...especially when one considers you'll likely have to add glass...I'd save up for awhile longer and buy a little better, more reliable rifle as opposed to junk. The savage 111, Tikka T-3, Weatherby Vanguard, and Remington 700's are all good options.
I have a cheaper 3-9x 40mm scope that shot pretty dang good on my uncles 22, and his ar-15. But i unly used it up to 100 yards.

this Savage 111 w/ a scope. I dont have the money yet but do you guys think this would be a good buy, or is it probably beat to hell?
