Should I Switch From Expandable Back To Fixed Broadheads?
Well for the last couple years I have been shooting expandable broadheads with no problems. The reason I switched from fixed broadheads was because for the life of me I could not get them to fly right out of my Hoyt Striker. This year I purchased a Hoyt Razortec with a NAP 4000 drop away rest and have found it to be an extremely accurate set up. I never even bothered trying to shoot fixed broadheads out of the Razortec so I just picked up a couple packs of 125 grain Shockwaves and figured that I just use those again. Well today I was shooting with some friends and decided to try a 125 gain Thunderhead just to see how well it would shoot in my bow. Well to my surprise it shot exactly like my field tips at 30 yards. I also tried 3 other brands of fixed broadheads and all of them flew just like my field tips. I couldn' t believe it. So now I can' t decide if I should switch back to a fixed broadhead or just use the Shockwaves that I already have? My setup is yielding 70#' s of KE so I should have plenty of penetration with either head. So what do you guy' s think I should do???
