Default Morning, Evening or All Day?

When you go out hunting, do you usually go out just in the morning, just in the afternoon / evening or go out from pre sun up to post sun down?

I would say that I go out all day about 40% of the time, 50% of the time it is just the morning and maybe 10% of the time in the evening only. I have been reading some opinions that say in the later season it is much better to be out in the afternoon than the morning. I may try that, but I fear getting a deer 10 minutes before it is too dark to see to shoot and having to track in the dark, then clean and get the deer out of there. I live 1.5 hours from my hunting spot, it would be midnight before I got home.

Plus, what do you do about a check station if you get out of the woods at 6:30 or 7:00pm and the station closed at 5:00? On a Saturday night? Would I have to wait until Monday to go get it checked in?
