Yesterday the Harvester sabot arrived from Graf. This morning i took them and other stuff up into the hills. The temperature was about 62 when the shoot started, and 67 at the finish. The air was perfectly still; elevation was about 4700'. Target was set out, and the range was exactly 200 yard according to the laser rangefinder. Load was 125g BH209, 200g SST, Harvester smooth sabot, W209 primer. First five shots from a cold clean barrel were some disappointing. It didn't seem i was able to relax.

I gave self a lecture, and changed targets for 3 more shots. These shots i tried as hard as i could, to relax. They were taken at the top target. Knowing there was no way the fourth shot would be good, i quit shooting, and photographed the target.



Then i returned to shoot more; this time the range was 201 yard. The first shot taken upon recommencing to shoot, the fourth shot, was the upper left hole. Shot 4 more times at the upper target. The seventh shot was the upper rightest shot. The 5 shots in the lower target were the first five shots from 200 yard. My shooting lacks precision, but i think the rifle is shooting pretty good now.



I think 3 things have made the rifle shoot better, than it did when new.

1. Cutting some plastic from the end of the stock so it quit contacting the barrel.

2. 108 shots taken may have kinda 'broken' in the rifle, so it shoots better.

3. Tape was put on the stock just ahead of the lug to make contact with the barrel; this may have helped, or perhaps not.
















The bolt, and chingadero have seen 108 shots, and never have been really cleaned. They are clean without being cleaned. This rifle with this set-up has zero blow back. The breech plug has 20 shots since it was last cleaned. It was installed with teflon tape, and it also stays super clean. The flash hole was 0.031" when new. Now the flash hole is 0.035".
