A suckers born every minute!

I couldn't resist, stopped by BPS today just to "check out" game cams and somehow the 2 Bushnell "black flash" cams they had on the rack followed me home.
I'm TECKNO IGNERNT when it comes to electronics, mostly because I hate learning a computerized whatever and then 6mths later it's obsolete and you gotta start over. This is my first shot at game cams. But I'm willing to give these things the old college try. I'm sure they'll do much more than I care for them to and I might not even have needed this particular model but wth here they are.
So for you "timber techies" what settings, time lapes etc are most preferential? I understand these will take "plot/landscape pics" at whatever intervals I set but then continue to also take regular pics triggered by activity? That mean I can set them to take plot pics every 5-15 mins during daylight and then resort to only triggered pics at night?
Am I also right in understanding that I can adjust the time between triggered pics? As much fun as it might be, I could care less about getting 4500 pics of doe groups each week but then again this time of year I would hate to miss several pics of a bachelor group as they wondered by the cam. So what intervals do you guys recommend for setting the trigger on these things?
Patience with me, I'm learnin another gizmo...
