Doesn't matter what you spend. Once you feel the hurt, you put it to the side until you can restock on supplies. If you're a weekend warrior that fires a handful of rounds on the range during the weekend, it won't be bad.

The real question is, How much are YOU willing to spend on this addicting hobby?
