The Rem 700 has been around for a long time and has proven itself in both the field and in mil. application. But I've also been hearing some good reports on the T/C. I'd suggest you take her to the gun shop and let her decide which one she wants.
I remember back when I started hunting and went with my dad to pick out a rifle, I despretely wanted a Win 88 in .308 or .284 and express it to him, HE decided on getting me a 760 in .308. For a 12 yr old boy about 5'2" and 100 lb. that was one heavy rifle and although I appreciated it and would never tell him, I really didn't care for the rifle and traded it for a Rem 600 in 6mm when I turned 18.
