I used to carry a small backpack, but it got to be tought to have that and my climbing stand strapped on my back. This year I decided to try a fanny pack instead. It works great. There are some dandy ones on the market. I purchased one from Cabelas for under $30. It has seven pockets and enough room for my knife, GPS, flashlight, gloves, scent, binos, rope, grunt tube, and urine container. And I still have room left. Keeps it all nicely out of my way but close at hand. And it doesn' t hinder my movement.
