I'm not sure why shooting a heavy 405 grain bullet with a regular sabot would be a problem, especially considering the short skirt that propels the heavy weight Powerbelt bullets. Their pure lead series of bullets include .50 caliber bullets that weigh 295, 348, 405 & a whopping 444 grains.

Plus there's also ballistic bridge sub bases from MMP which provide "Additional Gas Seal Cushion/protection of Sabot Base Improved Accuracy!".
Has anyone ever used the sub bases with a heavy weight bullet/sabot combination?
