The other gun in the video that cant hit anything was a 30-06
I know for a fact a .54cal firing a 230gr .530" round ball with an 80gr pyrodex rs charge will cleanly and quickly kill an elk at 140 yards, i did it and the internal damage it did to the lung was amazing.
Jon, no one said a .230 .54 RB wouldn't or the .270 for that matter lol.all that was said is bigger is better insurance .you and muley need to take a chill pill. when i hold a .230 gr RB and a .430 conical im my hand the decision is easy for me, where elk are concerned. like i said earlier you all shoot whatever you like
