I live in Clearwater County, Orofino Id. Unit10A. Our season for hunting bear with hounds starts tomorrow, I have for th last two weeks been roading my hounds on the strike rack. I have been getting a lot of strikes on bear, about twenty or so a day. The bears are deffinitely out despite us having a really long winter. They are out on the lower grassy areas, if you get up in elevation, arround the snow, the dogs havnt been striking on any, so as long as you stay down below the snow line and find some good grass areas, you should find some bears.
