I shot one shot with 100grns of 777 and a 300grn Barnes Original. The primer on all shots was a Federal 209A. After taking the shot i swabbed the barrel with a T/C presaturated patch. Was the crud ring there, yes. The difference was it was barely there.
I loaded the gun back up with 120grns of 777 and shot three shots with the 300grn Barnes Originals. Brought the gun in to swab. Was the crud ring there, yes. Here again very little and all three shots loaded pretty descent with out swabbing.
So more testing to do, but not bad so far.
Next time you shoot, try a different primer, preferably one a whole lot cooler than a Fed 209A. The 209A is probably the worst primer you could use with T7 and test for 'crud ring'
Although if you only got a slight 'crud ring' with the Fed primer that might say a whole bunch in itself.
Even a W209 is hot for T7, but i would really be curious if you noted a difference in the fouling.
