Just made a deal for a like new 1851 navy in .36cal with steel frame. My last 3 .44cal brass frames were crap, so hopefully the steel frame holds up better and doesnt come apart in my hand this time around
Have plenty of pioneer 3f so i figure 10 grains ought to be good enough for range fun.
The .36 is like shooting a .22 almost. Heck, in my .44 I shoot 30 regularly and it just jumps. It's a pleasure to shoot.
Steel is the only way to go. There's a reason brass wasn't the first option for builds. But when you run out of steel, you use what you have...
