I would have to shoot it. Ive got a few semi rare guns and a i shoot them. I just make more of an effort to keep it in like new condition. I have number 39 of a gun that is no longer made and will likely never be made again. I shoot the hell out of it but i leave the "purdy" stock at home.
Maybe adding a plain stock just for bad weather days is an option. I saw a Super 91 stock for sale not too long ago or maybe Doc can hook you up or check with Bob Bowers directly about a less expensive take off he might have. He just sold one a few days ago.
