And then I will purchase a .54 caliber Great Plains Rifle barrel from Midway USA. Then I have the best of both worlds.

Actually, I had the same thoughts when I bought my .54 GPR, figuring I would get a .50 Hunter barrel later. Never got around to it though and lost my desire for another .50. Now the only thing that would really tempt me would be a .45 fast twist flint barrel.
