I am going to guess that the scope is fine. I have bumped mine a couple times and it never hurt them.

As for what to do with bear meat... EAT THAT STUFF!! It tastes like a good beef roast if made right. The trick is to get every ounce of fat off that meat before cooking. And if at all possible roast it over a flame so any drippings can drip off the meat. We like to cook them over an open fire on a high grill. Bear if made right (and it was not a garbage dump bear) is really good.
