I swab and dry the bore,then load.after loading,I lightly oil the bore.I do it for protection when hunting,as I may leave the charge in for a week or more.I am always shooting clean cold bore.
That's exactly what I do for hunting also Chasam. Load it on an absolutely clean dry bore, then an oil patch followed by a dry patch. It stays loaded like that for as long as I like. In fact, my 50 Renegade was loaded like that back in November and sits in my closet right now with a "LOADED" flag on the trigger guard.
