I used scissors to cut them back a little but they were not as uniform as the original and the bullets seemed to fly irratically.
The loading jag from Thompson Center I was using is one designed to not hurt the tip of the bullet so the nose of the bullet goes into it causing the jag to go farther down onto the bullet. I had to stop using that loading jag to keep from getting my ram rod stuck. Hopefully I wasn't messing up the hollow point of the XTP when loading it. It was strange though how I couldn't seem to get a group going. There were some terrific shots made but then the next shot sucked. Like I said, I was having a bad day and maybe that was all there was to it. We'll see the next time out. I think the scope is set to zero on the bulls eye at 100 yards due to the few bulls eyes I did manage to hit. If I can get one good group into the bulls eye at 100 yards I can move on to the next rifle. I hope I can get them, the Thompson Center sabots, to work. I just got 100 of them in the mail when I got home from the range yesterday. And I have about 100 225 grain speer hollow points to use with them.
