Well, it could have been worse I guess. But I was really hoping for better since it was only 50 yards.
I gave the .50 GM LRH TC Hawken a workout Saturday afternoon - a bright sunny eighty-five degree day with gusty wind.
The gun wears a TC Vernier peep sight with a fiber optic up front.
The plan was to shoot six different bullets over 95 grains of GOEX FFFg.
Here's what I got with each bullet.
This barrel is still pretty new. It had only twenty shots out of it before this session. I got a little "stutter" pushing loads down the bore, so gave it a few dozen strokes with JB bore paste when I cleaned it after the session.
One thing that surprised me in this session was the loading of those .458 Remingtons in Harvester sabots made for .451/452 bullets. They loaded fine, and no harder than with the MMP orange sabots made for .458 bullets.
All in all, the Deep Curls shot pretty well. Maybe that's just the best I can do with iron sights.
