The mailman brought me a present on Friday. It was the rifle that JStanley helped me acquire from a gun shop near him. It is a Knight Light mk-85. It is like other mk-85's but with a 20 inch barrel. It sure has a nice balanced feel to it. I am not sure who made the barrel but I think it was made before they started using the Green Mountain barrels.
Today it got up near freezing so I decided I had to give it a try. I set my sawhorse rest 50 yards from the target. I used 75 grains of Goex 3f and a 440 grain UC short. That is a pretty snappy load for this little gun. I shot 5 shots and got the factory rear sight set within reason. I then decided to try shooting a group. Pretty good on the first four shots but then I came down with the five shot fever and blew it on the last shot. I still felt pretty good about the way things went on the first time out with my new rifle.
It took a little more time and a few more patches to clean up than what you bh209 shooters are use to but I really didn't mind a bit. I think I am going to really enjoy this little carbine.
