RE: What is right with hunting shows?
I haven' t seen one of the shows with me in it.[:' (] That' s the wrong.[:-]
What' s right???? Well, there' s alot that' s right. I think what people are saying when they find fault is they want to see more realistic hunts of the everyday garder variety. I watched a hunt the other day where the guy watched 100 deer and then shot one of the 25 bucks that were in the field. These preserve, private party affairs aren' t hunting as the world knows it. It' s just that NOW we' ve watched so many JUMBO monsters fall that probably anything less and we' d find fault with the quality of the animal they shot.
It' s entertainment. We all watch it and inspite of our rejections we tune in week after week. I think we should start having some REALISTIC tracking scents or complete track jobs where we find the deer and the camera man is not standing 20 yards the other side of the deer waiting for the guy to look surprised. Lets see a guy find the deer and really be surprised for a change.
In short... we like the entertainment value but detest the canned-ness of it all. I' ve seen enough shooting houses, enept women bowhunters who can' t draw the thing etc etc etc. REAL HUNTS would be nice for a change. I' d rather them leave out all the danged commercialism in the videos and charge me a few more bucks for the tape. The last thing I need to see is Tom Miranda or Matt Morette make one more mock scrape.
