Go with the 3X9X40mm...bigger is much better to see thru and to draw in low light conditions!I have Leupold 3X9X40mm scopes on my Browning .243 and the Savage 7mm-08 Rifles,they are great scopes and work very good in the early mornings and late evenings when there is low-light conditions,they are nice and clear and help in drawing in as much light as possible...when using the 3X9 power if Your in heavy thick woods or low light conditions turn the power down to 3,You'll be able to see an animal easier and pick it up in your scope and it will make it more visable.
