A long time ago Westenr said part of the high cost was the way BH had to manufactured (the shape of it) but what I am saying is the shape of it is no different than and IMR powder #???? @ $21 a pound and it is a lot more powerful.
Trail Boss looks NOTHING like BH209. BH209 looks more like Alliant Reloader7 but far less powerful. Trail Boss looks like little flat disks with a hole in the center and is very bulky for its weight. Its super cheap too IIRC and yields pretty low fps for cowboy action stuff. It will give you about 1100-1300fps max in a 45/70 IIRC and thats pretty weak but it fills the case. It can have a nasty pressure spike too so don't even think about it unless you have a SML.
I do know the powder you are talking about but ive never seen it. It is very popular but by weight its more than twice as powerful as BH209 and just changing from a 250 to a 300gr bullet can have a HUGE effect on pressures. You have less than a 10gr minimum too max window also.
