T7 powder 110 gr 260 gr PT Gold
Muzzle... 2025fps/2365 fpe
100yd....1680fps/1625fpe
200yd....1395fps/1125fpe
That's plenty for Muley's
To compare with 300gr
T7 powder 110gr 300gr PT Gold
Muzzle.........1995fps/2640fpe
100yd..........1670fps/1885fpe
200yd..........1400fps/1305fpe
No doubt the 300gr has more power, but I consider it an elk load, and a bit overkill for deer.
At 200yds the 260gr is shooting flatter. I'd prefer to have that over more fpe.
With that said. I'll try the 300gr and see if I like it.[/QUOTE]
Muley Hunter,
I'd check those velosities with your gun and your load. I've shot the 300's with 100 of T7 and was in 1700 - 1750 range on the Chono.
My Z5 Omega loves the 300's with a Crushed Rib. While I don't have the pictures of the bullets terminal performance ( The bullet picture that is ) I can tell you they're 2 for 2 on deer. My groups tightend up when I went up to the heavier bullet.
