Well, i'll be darned... my daughter lives in Kennewick - I am over your way all time, in fact the grandaughters play in the Yakima AAU basketball league and we end up driving up there quite a bit. We need to get a meet going and I can share some information with you. Do you know where Benton City is? There is a sopt just outside of Benton City that we can et some shooting in if you want to.
What do you think of the Bighorn? The same store has a MK85 SS for about 400 dollars but I am asuming that it is about the same gun as the bighorn. A lot of guys over here really love the CVA Elkhorn, they say it is a real tack driver.
The Big Horn is really a very good Pac Northwest gun. The barreled action is basically the same barreld action that you would get on any of the top line Knights. In my opinion the MK is the best of the open breech Knight guns, but not worth $400 on todays market, that is what they were when they were new.
Unless you are in immediate need of the gun do not buy anything yet... unless you might want to go with that LRH, that is still not a bad buy. Beating the weight or the stock is an easy matter and it is a super gun. Switching the bolt out is also a piece of cake. I believe we can get you into a great Knight for $250-$300.
Basically there is not a CVA made that would serve you as well as a Knight or a White. If you go to the older CVA's they have load restrictions on them and the barrel is made from a extrusion process. The newer CVA's have cleaned up their act act quite a bit.
Check your PM messages... I am headed to Kennewick this week - early release days over there so I am in charge of the grand kids in the afternoons...
Talk to you later....
