I am glad to hear the part that broke went forward instead of backward towards the shooter. I also wonder in the design of the drum did not play a part in this. There would be a lot of pressure moving up through the drum into the base of that mag spark. Maybe this was never considered in the design.
While the quality of material could have made a difference, I am of the firm belief that a rifle should not be drastically altered to do things it was never intended to do. Just my opinion and it means nothing. But there are limitations to every thing in this world. Perhaps you found the one for the mag spark. IN fact I wonder .... if you told the manufacturer that you were shooting black horn out of a side lock with the product if they would even honor the warranty. Just some thoughts.
